This hat is absolutely gorgeous, and the pattern seems easy enough for me to handle. I may have to try my hand at this over the weekend since I happen to have a bunch of skeins lying around with nothing to make.

Directions are not clear. Is tis knit in the round or not? Directions say you use the matchstitch to seam. Please advise. Thanks .

It's not worked in the round per this line "Note Hat is worked back and forth in rows on Circular Needles, then seamed in the back." You should also be able to use long straight needles because you're casting on only 81 or 91 stitches in worsted, doesn't take that much room.

Actually, the directions couldn't be more clear, it has even added a note stating it is knit flat on circular needles, if that doesn't clear it for you then the note at the end about sewing it up using mattress stitch to seam it should, you would not have to seam something knit in the round.
